  • Whiteboard and markers
  • Flashcards for weather expressions

Introduction:

Begin with a striking image of a polluted river and ask students what they notice in French. Recall previously learned nature vocabulary and set the success criteria: students will use new words, give advice with the imperative, compare climates, and produce a short forecast.

Lesson Structure:
  1. Do‑now (5'): Matching activity – students match French nature words to pictures.
  2. Mini‑lecture (10'): Present key vocabulary for each sub‑topic and model the imperative for advice.
  3. Listening task (8'): Play climate‑change audio; students answer three comprehension questions.
  4. Pair writing (12'): Write a brief letter (80‑100 words) advising a friend on three environmental actions.
  5. Speaking practice (10'): Role‑play a weather forecast for three days using at least six expressions.
  6. Integrated writing (15'): Plan and begin a 150‑200 word text that links natural world, environment, climate and weather.
Conclusion:

Review the main vocabulary and structures covered, then have each student write one sentence on an exit ticket summarising what they can now do in French regarding the environment. Assign homework: complete the integrated writing piece and bring a short oral summary for the next lesson.
