3. Health & Illness
Think of your body as a car engine:
- 🧠 Brain = the control unit that decides what to do.
- ❤️ Heart = the pump that keeps everything moving.
- 💪 Muscles = the wheels that allow you to move.
When the engine (body) gets a bug (illness), you might feel:
- 🤒 Fever – the body’s thermostat is too high.
- 🤧 Runny nose – the nose is flushing out irritants.
- 😴 Fatigue – the engine needs a rest stop.
- 🤢 Nausea – the stomach is saying “no thanks” to something.
4. Exam Tips
Vocabulary: Memorise the body parts list in both languages and practice using them in sentences.
Listening: Pay attention to the context – if a teacher says “está cansado”, you know the student is tired.
Speaking: Use everyday activities to describe symptoms, e.g., “Me duele la cabeza porque he estado estudiando mucho.”
Reading: Look for key phrases like “tiene fiebre” (has a fever) or “siente dolor” (feels pain).
Writing: When describing a health scenario, start with “El paciente” or “La persona” and then list symptoms and suggested remedies.
